Outpost #31 was founded by Todd Cameron in October 2001. We have been the #1 fan site and resource for the film since our launch, and even offered fans the opportunity to view the film on 35mm at our annual THING-FEST event which ran from 2001 to 2008. The late Steve Crawford contributed greatly to many areas including the Maps, Timeline, and FAQ’s.
In the summer of 2003 Todd and Steve ventured up to the remote filming location in Stewart, British Columbia, Canada and found remains of the Outpost #31 camp set and the wreckage of the Norwegian helicopter. Sadly Steve passed away in November 2008 and he is missed by many.
Tony Chefles ran the website from 2010 through 2016, setting up excellent interviews, fully covering the prequel, as well as ongoing updates.
In June 2017 Todd completely re-built the Outpost #31 site for the 35th Anniversary and runs the social media accounts. In 2021 Todd has two books publishing; Snowblind, the R.J. MacReady backstory novel, and Fragments of the Outpost, a novella anthology of 12 short stories that answers the many mysteries of the film.
